First Visit

Each patient’s unique pattern of symptoms requires an individual solution.

The Intake

We get to know you inside and out

During your initial consultation, you will spend 40 min with your practitioner virtually to go over your health history in depth. This will be followed shortly after by a 30-45 min in-clinic acupuncture treatment. We encourage you to share any labs or blood work that may be relevant.

The Treatment

We create a customized treatment for you, using a range of Chinese medicinal therapies. Acupuncture and other modalities including moxa, gua sha, cupping and massage may be used. Herbs can also be paired with acupuncture to enhance your treatment.

How We Work

We provide integrative care with meaningful results.

Some questions you may have for us

At this time, we are requiring all new patients to book an initial virtual consultation first prior to their first in-clinic acupuncture treatment. Contact appointments@yinova.com to schedule your consultation, followed by your in-clinic treatment.

You can also speak to a practitioner on the phone before booking your Initial Consultation. Just let the front desk know, and they will arrange a call for you. We also offer herbal consultations, with no acupuncture treatment.  These are an opportunity to speak with one of our practitioners, where you will go over your health history and they will prescribe you an herbal formula as well as offer any dietary/lifestyle advice they may have.

Here at Yinova, we have given this much thought and are committed to reopening our clinic safely, for those who need acupuncture treatment. We will continue to offer virtual herbal and wellness consultations, while seeing some patients in-person. In order to open safely, we have created new policies and procedures both for our clinical team and our patients, which you can read about here

Absolutely! You can also see a different practitioner each week if that works better with your schedule. The Yinova team works  collaboratively, so any practitioner you see will have access to your chart and will be fully informed about your case, enabling them to provide you with continuity of care.

Most  of our patients see us weekly; however, each case is unique. Your practitioner will craft a clear treatment plan for you and will tell you how often you should have treatment. Everyone responds to treatment differently so your results will depend on your particular situation. There are certain issues that can be addressed in a visit or two; other cases might require more treatments until your goal is met. Your practitioner will be able to guide you on the results you can expect.  Often, patients will notice relief from a specific symptom straight away, though we may need more time to work on the underlying root of the issue.

If you need to cancel or reschedule, please let the Front Desk know as soon as you can by phone or by emailing appointments@yinova.com. We do have a 24-hour cancellation policy, so appointments altered within 24 hours of the scheduled treatment time will result in a fee.

You can book a virtual initial consultation without needing to come in for acupuncture. During these consultations, our team of licensed and board-certified herbalists will be able to update your current treatment plan or if you are new to the center, help you set new health goals. They’ll also be able to prescribe you herbal formulas tailored to your unique pattern, recommend appropriate vitamins and supplements, and offer you advice, support, and dietary suggestions.

Our team will be able to help provide you with suggestions on how to help you take care of yourself and your family. They can work with you to find solutions for anxiety, insomnia, headaches, allergies, digestive problems, and respiratory issues, as well as offer information about boosting immunity and staying as healthy as possible. They will also be able to talk you through breathing exercises, suggest yoga poses, guide you through meditations, and be a friendly ear. Here at Yinova, we love what we do and we want to use our experience to help you.

We do not process insurance in-house; however, we are happy to provide you with a receipt that has the necessary coding for you to submit to your provider. We recommend checking with your insurance company to see if you are covered for acupuncture and, if so, what specific conditions your insurance company covers acupuncture for.
