ABC: Relieving Pregnancy Back Pain
Dr. Jay Adlersberg of ABC News in New York City visited Jill Blakeway of the Yinova Center to discuss a new study from the British Medical Journal on acupuncture. Many women experience moderate to severe back pain during their third trimester of pregnancy. Acupuncture in conjunction with standard home exercises was found by the British Medical Journal to work better than specialized exercises alone. Jill Blakeway specializes in treating pregnant women and offered insight as to how acupuncture works to interrupt the pain signal and manually break up spasms within the muscle, providing a safe relief to back pain during the 3rd trimester.
