TESTIMONIALS

Jill Blakeway brings her considerable skill, compassion, kindness and a tremendous sense of humor to bear in diagnosing a range of imbalances and diseases. I first came to Jill after I had been diagnosed with breast cancer at the age of 32. She not only fixed the underlying hormonal imbalance I had suffered with for years, but she helped me through a year of chemotherapy and radiation, making an extremely difficult experience much more comfortable and bearable. I have been in remission for two years now and I credit Jill with helping me stay healthy. She is an absolute delight and inspiration to be around, and has become a very treasured friend. You are in very, very good hands with Jill as she is the consummate practitioner of a healing art.

Suzanne, New York City

Jill Blakeway is caring, knowledgeable and extremely well qualified. She has been very helpful in helping to reduce the considerable stress of living in New York City. Through acupuncture, herbal therapy and her counseling, I feel that I am well armed to face whatever New York has to offer.

Louis, Actor/Musician

Jill Blakeway is a Godsend! I was led to her through other caring professionals and have been overwhelmed by her support, caring and thorough process. She has helped me to understand my body and monitor my body in the most effective way.
When other doctors have been discouraging, Jill has been a ray of hope.
My husband & I have been trying to conceive for almost three years now. With Jill’s wisdom and vision I believe now more than ever that we can reach our goal of having a healthy baby. Jill is like a detective. She finds what is unique about each patient and zeros in on specifics. She tweaks and fine tunes my body – so that I can reach my optimum results. She is always patient and kind and has a heart as big as Manhattan. Run to see her. She is one of a kind!

Nancy, Actress/Singer

My husband and I tried to get pregnant for over a year with no luck. We both underwent a battery of tests to determine whether there was a problem but found nothing wrong. We kept trying - charting like crazy, using the Clean Plan monitor to track my cycle and taking my basal temperature. We found the book "Taking Charge of Your Fertility" very helpful and informative - I really didn't know anything about my cycle until I started charting. We even managed to keep a sense of humor about it and continued to have fun trying to get pregnant.

I've worked freelance in a very competitive business for many years. Most of the jobs I get require lots of travel. So, it took a while, but I found a steady job with less travel and less stress. I made a sincere effort to take care better care of myself and make time for
relaxation and rest. When I turned 35 - having read all of the statistics about decreasing fertility - I started to worry more and more that my age was the problem. We went to see a Reproductive Endocrinologist who did more testing and after finding nothing wrong recommended IUI. We were really surprised by this - while we are both open to IUI and IVF and understand that it helps many couples to get pregnant, we both saw it as a last resort and felt that there must be some intermediate step. He didn't offer any alternatives.

So, at the recommendation of a friend, I started seeing Jill for regular acupuncture treatments. After my first session, I felt less stressed out about everything. Jill was the first healthcare professional to take an interest in my charts - she actually made copies of them, studied them, and helped me to better interpret and understand what the charts were telling me about my cycle, which was sometimes irregular making it difficult to determine my most fertile days. She prescribed herbs to help regulate my cycle and in a few months my period became much more predictable. I looked forward to my acupuncture appointments and appreciated the warm and supportive atmosphere and the YinOva Center. Jill's approach is truly holistic - she is not dismissive of problems like stress and depression that can further complicate infertility, and, at the same time, she is open-minded about the many approaches, both conventional and unconventional, for treating infertility.

About two and half years had gone by now and we still weren't pregnant - I got impatient, and when I turned 36, I got even more worried about my age. So, we went back to the Reproductive Endocrinologist and agreed to hormone therapy - clomid in the first part of my cycle followed by an HCG shot then progesterone. We did it for two, uncomfortable months (progesterone can make you feel like you have chronic PMS) and I developed a cyst on my ovary (a common side effect of clomid as it can hyper stimulate your ovaries). The doctor and his staff were very nonchalant about the cyst - told me to take a break and come back for the full IUI treatment which, statistically, is more effective. It was a revelation for me and my husband. We decided that IUI and IVF weren't for us - it was too much of an emotional strain. We'd keep trying, but stop pushing and just except whatever happened - baby or no baby.

I went back to the YinOva Center for regular appointments with Jill and Margaret and my husband started taking the herbal equivalent of a multi-vitamin called Man's Treasure. In six months we were pregnant. My husband swears it's thanks to the Man's Treasure and I owe it to regular acupuncture. It's a miracle, three years in-the-making. We are grateful to Jill and Margaret and everyone at the YinOva Center who supported us and stuck with us for the long haul.
